9) OUTPUT AMPLIFICATION
PC: The Total Gain field displays the combination of the Initial Gain (pre-filter) along
with any post-filter amplification. A predefined list of values are allowed. The
setting can be typed in, or the spinner buttons can be used to scroll through the
values.
Macintosh: The OutAmp column displays the amount of post-filter amplification. Selecting a
field pops up a list of available output gain settings. The Total Amp column
displays the combination of the PreAmp pre-filter gain along with the OutAmp
post-filter gain.
Keyboard Commands
PC: When a field is highlighted, the Up and Down arrow keys can be used to scroll through the
values, as if clicking on the spinner buttons. For the Positive Input and Negative Input
fields, the <Page Up> and <Page Down> keys can also be used to jump to the beginning or
end of the lists.
Macintosh: When the main window is active, pressing any of the four arrow keys will move the cursor
through the fields in the spreadsheet. When a field is selected, its value can be changed
with the <pg up>and <pg dn> keys, and x10 with the <shift+pg up> and <shift+pg dn>
keys. In the pop-up columns, the value is always changed to the next item in the list of
available values. In the Offset Column, the value is changed according to the values entered
in the Offset Units… Dialog Box; by default these values are 1 mV and -1 mV.
Pressing the Help key will open a Help window. Double-clicking on a column name will
display appropriate information in the Help window.
Overload Handling
PC: Automatic polling for overload conditions is set in the File Options dialog. When an
overload condition is detected on a CyberAmp channel, the channel # tab is highlighted in
red. Reduce the gain to avoid an overload condition
Macintosh: CyberControl constantly scans the overload status of the CyberAmp channels. If an
overload is detected on any channel, the window icon is inverted and highlighted in red; if
the window is not iconized, a red ball is placed next to the overloaded channel. Reduce the
amplification to avoid an overload condition.
