CMD300 CONTROL SOFTWARE
For PCs, the CyberAmp 380 is supplied with a DOS command-line program called CMD300 (for
Command 300) that can be used to control all of the functions and capabilities of the instrument. The
program can be used in command-line mode, or it can accept commands interactively or from a
command file on disk.
Installation
The CMD300 program and the other software supplied on the CD can be installed on a hard disk in a
directory called \CMD300. With the CD in Drive D:, issue the following DOS commands:
MD \CMD300
CD \CMD300
COPY D:\DOS\CMD300\*.*
The CMD300.EXE program can be renamed to C.EXE to make it easier to type the name.
General
The CMD300 program requires about 175,000 bytes of free memory to run. Many data acquisition
programs enable you to temporarily exit, or shell out, to DOS. If shelling out of the data acquisition
program frees up 175,000 bytes or more during the temporary exit, CMD300 can be run without
quitting the data acquisition program.
The first time that CMD300 is run it will ask which COM port is being used to communicate with the
CyberAmp. The COM port number can be entered or highlighted, followed by the <Enter> key. A
selected COM port will be remembered during subsequent executions of the program. The COM port
can be changed by using the CMD300 "COM" command.
Similarly, the first time that CMD300 is run it will use a COM port speed of 9600 bits/second by
default. The default speed can be changed by using the CMD300 "BAUD" command. Once changed,
the speed will be remembered between runs of the program.
Help on the command syntax and options of CMD300 is obtained by entering the command "HELP".
From the DOS command line, enter the following and terminate it with the <Enter> keystroke.
CMD300 HELP
This will display the help text file for the program; move around in the help file by using the <PgUp>
and <PgDn> keys.
The first command issued usually specifies the CyberAmp channels to be manipulated. Once a group
of one or more channels is specified, this group will be remembered and hence will not have to be
